Palma de Majorca (Mallorca)

So yesterday was day one in Palma, and went pretty much how a first visit should go: a few of the main sights (in this case the tiendas in the city center and the extraordinary Cathedral), and after an or two lost. No big deal being lost, though, especially with a map and a (common) sense of direction. There is plenty of city to see, not to mention the sea itself. The beaches, unfortunately, will have to wait for next time, as it was drizzling rain the whole day and blowing wind.

Also worth checking out is the Palau March museum, adjacent to the main attraction, which is the Cathedral (it costs about 3 Euros).

Next time, I go inside the Cathedral, walk the beach, and hopefully won’t get lost!

Colm Meaney new film in Majorca Mountains near Soller

Toni Bestard rueda ’El perfecto desconocido’ en Mallorca

To Bestard, twice nominated for the Goya for his short film «Baggage» (2006) and «The Anonymous Charon» (2007), the beginning of the filming of «Perfect Stranger» is, paradoxically, «the end of a journey» after «a very long journey» of four years trying to bring up the film.

«I feel like a little boy with his first toy,» has confessed Bestard, which states «excited» and «encouraged» by the shooting began, as reported by the producer in a statement.

«I always said that until the count and say action has not believe I’ll finish it,» says Bester.

Managing a reputed actor Meaney, who joins the morning shooting, is to Bestard «a challenge» and «encouragement» in part because you have to guide you in English.

Filming began today on a rural property just outside of Llucmajor, where the actress Natalia Rodriguez has given birth to Celia, one of the main characters.

In addition to Meaney and Rodriguez, the film also act Carlos Santos, Ana Wagener, Vicky Peña, Guillermo Juaneda, Xisco Segura, Pascal Ulli and Biel Durán.

The director explained that his goal is «being honest» in telling the story on its head and that sincerity can «transcend» and find «a spectator who looks different stories, more human, character, without losing sight of «reach the widest possible audience.»

«The Perfect Stranger» tells the story of an alien who returns to a small town in Mallorca to close a wound of the past, in a script that blends elements of comedy and drama.
